Teens

Sharing more cards I made for the children's home.  This time I went for some teen and boy cards.  I broke out my favorite paper set that I use for most of my male teen cards.

Recollections - Awesome boy paper
Spellbinders - You've got game die

My Favorite things- Jersey die
Papercraft inspiration magazine - Sentiment stamp

My favorite things - More Essential sentiment
Star die

Now these next two were printed images from another cardmaking magazine, I have used the stamps before many times but never the images that came with them.  The paper isn't very thick so I first glued them to cardstock and then hand cut them out and used the paper that came in the pack.  These aren't teen cards but I felt I needed a few more boy cards since my last post I had a lot of girl cards.

Simply Cards magazine - Nitwit collection paper and dinosaur
Sky background done with homemade cloud stencil and sponged ink
Poppystamps - stitched landscape die
Spellbinders - Fern die
Gina Marie- birthday words sentiment stamp

Same as above
K& co. sentiment sticker

The last two cards are for teen girls, These flowers were with the paper I used above, not sure how they go with the dinosaurs but thought they would make cute flowers for girly cards.

Simply cards-Nit wit paper collection (flowers)
Buttons from my stash
Martha Stewart - Border punch
Gina Marie - Birthday words sentiment
Papertrey ink - Hodge Podge paper

I cute the border paper from the paper pack so it could be a little topper for this card, the sentiment tag is from the same paper pack, I just added a stamped sentiment and cut using a die

g.c.d. - Fun house paper
Spellbinders- Labels 20
Gina marie - Birthday words sentiment stamp

We have a very dark and rainy start to our weekend here, but it is supposed to get warmer :)
I hope you enjoy a fun and creative weekend.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Children

One of the girls in my card making group mentioned that a children's home near her friend mentioned they could use cards of all kinds. I started off with Birthday. One of my card making magazines had these images all on a sheet, I have used one before, but decided to go through them all and cut them out with a die, add a sentiment and some sparkle here and there, which doesn't show up well in the pictures and make cards out of them.

Those were all for younger kids, the next set is hopefully for any preteens.

This last one I am thinking would be nice for a teen card.

Next I am working on some more teen cards, hope to have them done in a couple days.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Periphery

I had never heard this word before so I had to look it up and it says the outer limits or edge of an area or object.  Now that is the name of the paper I used today but I will have to say that I feel the whole card could be named this, I went with all different kinds of textures and colors and so I feel I went out to the outer limits of my creativity.

These swirls were given to me and they are a sticker, the bottom half is canvas and the top portion is cork.  The bird cage is made of wood and I colored the birds with my sparkle marker to make them stand out.

Adding a couple blue dots to match the birds, they are quite thick but this is another hand delivered card, and I inked the sentiment that I stamped with some brown ink to tie in with the cork. Thanks to Leslie for this great paper to play with and to make me step out of my creative box a little :)

BasicGrey - Periphery paper
Cork Swirls maker unknown
Recollections - Wooden bird on swirl
Woodpile - bird in cage
Spectrum noir - Sparle pen in teacup on birds
Gina K - tag lines sentiment stamp
Pebbles - blue candy dots

I am a little late with my post I have been watching HSN craft day, I set up my VCR to tape it all and then I can fast forward through those items I am not interested in, I actually was going to buy a stamp set and I wrote down the number to order and then they sold out :(  It has been a nice way to spend the day in between my chores since it is still quite chilly outside, but good news we are going to go above freezing for at least a couple hours tomorrow, that will be nice :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

Hello

I love that I am all caught up with my birthday cards so that I am able to spend some time making cards for friends and family that are going through some rough times at the moment.  This friend happens to always have such beautiful gardens and so I thought this might be a pick me up card to get her excited for the coming spring planting season.

I chose to color with pencils since these houses and birds are quite small but I still am not happy with my results with coloring pencils, maybe it is just coloring these small items in general that I don't do well, I tried to use colors in this garden print paper.  I even bought paper that said it was for pencils.

Great impressions - G 517 stamp colored w/pencils
BasicGrey - picadilly paper
Spellbinders - Labels 11, Lg deckled rectangle and Labels trio dies
Hero Arts - everyday sayings sentiment stamp
Craftaroo - Rhinestones

We did get our snow on Sunday with a lot of blowing wind, and I woke up this morning to 5 degrees with windchill of -11, but the sun is shinning bright, so all is well, at least until I have to get out today and do some errands, LOL!

Hope you all had a nice weekend and I hope that the week ahead is a great one,

Connie

Alley Springs Mill

Finishing up today with our trip we took in early February. I had shared back in this post Here when we first went to this park in Missouri. That time it was a very HOT day, but this time it was perfect temperatures, so much more enjoyable.  As you can see by some of the pictures I took more time taking pictures of the clear and blue water there, maybe because there was such a lack of green anywhere else :)

It sure had a different feel to it in the winter compared to the summer. But I just love the clear waters here, to be able to see all that is going on with the plants that grow in the water.

You knew I had to get those tree roots in there didn't you :)

As we were heading back to cross the bridge to the walk back to the parking lot, the sun peeked out and so we took some last final pictures of the sun shinning on the mill.

I also liked the way the sun was hitting this tree and the blue skies popping through the clouds behind.

While I was waiting for my hubby to get his last pictures, I was watching these two fly around in circles above the mill and so I tried to get a picture of them zooming my lens as far as I could, the details didn't show up so well.

This was the only green I could see on any trees :)

As we are getting ready to get yet another snow storm starting early tomorrow morning, I am so thankful for the days like this that we had where we were able to enjoy a day with no coats and to soak up the sun whenever it popped out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful and creative weekend!
