Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Watercolor Christmas

The Christmas challenge in my stamp group for May was to use watercolor on your card. That reminded me that I had these watercolor panels that I haven't used in awhile.

  • Taylored Expressions - Jolly Holiday 3x4 watercolor panels
  • Daniel Smith and Spectrum Aqua markers for watercoloring
  • LilyBee designs - Jingle paper
  • Gemini - Frosty Christmas for candy cane die

  • Taylored Expressions - Jolly Holiday 3x4 watercolor panels
  • Daniel Smith and Spectrum Aqua markers for watercoloring
  • LilyBee designs - Jingle paper
  • Recollections - Christmas snowflake die

  • Taylored Expressions - Jolly Holiday 3x4 watercolor panels
  • Daniel Smith and Spectrum Aqua markers for watercoloring
  • LilyBee designs - Jingle paper
  • K&co, - Smitten white paper ribbon
  • Gemini - little snowflake die
  • Poppystamps - Valley snowflakes dies (2 bigger ones)
On the snow and the snowman I used  Daniel Smith Pearlescent White paint, I might have to get a tube of this, I used a sample piece I had, it gives pretty shimmer to it.

Both of my groups are having Christmas in July challenges so I hope to get more done this month :)

I did get an update with my blog on Follow it yesterday, there are no pictures of my card like I see on other peoples Follow it posts so I am not sure if I did something wrong or maybe that is all you get with the Basic (free) version but it is coming through so if you want to follow me through email you can click on top right of my blog where it says get new posts by email.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you enjoyed a nice 4th of July weekend.  It sounded like a war zone around here until after 1:00 am I think there should be a certain time limit of how long you should be setting them off, it started off around 8:30 so it was way too much by the end.

Vintage Bird

I love this paper, it has so much going on already you don't need much to add to it but I did think it needed a vintage bird, I first stamped it with inks and just didn't think it stood out enough so I broke out my Spectrum sparkle markers and colored in the bird and the berries, that was much better :)

  • Stamp unknown, colored w/inks and Spectrum Sparkle markers
  • Paper Studio - Kirby Teesdale
  • Kaisercraft - pearls

I am not sure if I set up my blog correctly because I have not had an update of my post about changing over to Follow it, if not I will have to go back in and see if I can set it up again.  If you are following me through Follow it now can you let me know if you got an update through your email, thank you!

slimline watercolor

I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate from Simon Says stamps recently and I knew just what I wanted, they had recently had a new release of this big stamp set and there were so many gorgeous cards made with it I just wanted to give it a try :)

I heat embossed with white embossing powder onto watercolor paper, then using a mix of Daniel Smith watercolor and my Spectrum Aqua pens I water colored the image, I forgot to take a picture to show what the whole panel looked like but I did take a picture of the two cards together to give you an idea of what it looked like before I cut them in two to make two cards.

I don't have any slim line dies so I used my regular dies and just cut them twice making sure not to cut the ends so that I could flip the card around and cut the opposite ends, if you want to see how that is done I think you can google extending size of dies, I am sorry I can't remember where I saw the the technique just remembered seeing it somewhere.  As you see I had to cut a little off the panel on the right in order for it to work with that die.

  • Simon Says stamps - Flower Garden stamp, embossed in white and water colored
  • Cosmo Cricket paper
  • Tim Holtz - Metallic Sticker book TH94134 sentiment
  • Die unknown cut twice to make slim line card

The second one I went with a little darker colors, sure does change the look of it.

  • Simon says stamps - Flower Garden stamp, heat embossed w/white embossing powder and water colored w/Daniel Smith water colors and Spectrum Aqua pens
  • Lawn Fawn - Outside in Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die, cut twice to make it fit for slimline
  • Leisure Arts - Savor the moment paper
  • Hero Arts - It's your day sentiment stamp

I would like to add my cards to the Simon Says Stamps Red white and blue challenge.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
