Pirates and Badlands

First we will start off with the card I made for my Great nephew's birthday. I believe he turned 10, and he just started playing football for this season and has already had his first injury.

This is another stamp set that I bought at the garage sale our Local stamp store has every now and then, the next one is in October, you know I will be there :)  I had to color in some land for him to stand on the rest is all stamps from the set.

Stampendous -- Changito Pirates, colored with markers
Distress ink --Tumbled Glass for background sky
My Mind's eye -- sweetest thing paper
Spellbinders -- Matting basics A&B dies
Wink of stella on treasure chest

Sorry I haven't shared any pics from the trip until now, I will just share a couple a day of each place we went. First off the Badlands, wow this is just an amazing drive, more to see around every corner.

Yes it made me very nervous that he was going out to the edges of rocks, and yes I stayed back, I don't care for heights, this was close enough for me.

Here is some wildlife we saw on our drive through the badlands, we kind of made them nervous when we stopped so I didn't get the best picture.

I love the different layers of color in the rock, I read the sign of why the different colors but I already forgot, everything started blurring together by the end we did so much in the days we were gone.  These were all taken with just a point and shoot camera, but hopefully it gives you some idea of what it is like, if you have never been there I suggest you go, it is just an amazing drive.

Next time I will be sharing Mt. Rushmore.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Connie

I live in North Dakota and have visited the Badlands and I find it wonderful. So many different things to see. Love all the wild life and the different sceneries from mountains to deserts. It goes on and on for miles.

You are very talented with your card making. Great one for your nephew!

Hi Connie, I just love your newest card. Such a cute design for your great nephew's birthday. I hope his injury heals quick.
What a wonderful trip you had. Love your pics and the great shots of the beauty in our world. I'm like you, don't like the heights and you won't find me on the edge either. LOL
Looking forward to Mt. Rushmore.
Have a nice weekend and Happy Fall. Blessings, cm

Awesome photos! I just love road trips to places I've never been before. I love that you shared a few today and will look forward to more. Now, the card you made for your nephew is SO CUTE! What a great scene you created with the little island he's standing on. Those sales sound like something to look forward to!

Hee, love the card, its just right and fun for a boy!

Your pics really show the terrain of where you went, so so different from anything in the UK and so very dramatic. It looks hot and dry, the wildlife there must be well adapted.
I know what you mean about all the info blurring together! The impresssion it makes on you, the atmosphere is what you really remember.
Glad your hubby came back in one piece!!
Happy Autumn to you too, Connie.

That stamp & card is adorable! I love the pirate monkey and his parrot! The Badlands do look a bit "bad" as in scary to me. I am enjoying from afar! :-)

Oh, Connie, what a cute card and a fun image. Just love it! And, wow, the Badlands are just that. I'm with you about heights. I just back up and even have my back against walls if we are walking along a place that has heights below. But what an amazing trip! Hugs!
