Teen card and Missouri Botanical Garden Part 1

This card was for my great nephew that is a teenager, I don't have a lot of items for teen boys, but I thought if I colored this guy a different color than normal it may look a little more like a teen card.

Inkadinkado -- Humorous Birthday stamp set, colored w/markers
WeRmemory keepers -- Anthologie papers
Spellbinders -- sentiments one die
American crafts -- jute
button -- flea market

I don't know how you girls that take pictures can only add a few, I took over a 100 pictures at the Botanical gardens and to get it down to just a few was too hard so I will be doing a few posts on it, like I did our trip.  They have a Climatron in the garden which is the first Geodesic dome to be used as a conservatory.  If you are interested you can read about it HERE .

As you can tell I was drawn to the water features inside.  Oh my it was like a Sauna in this building but it was beautiful, so worth it.

You can see how wet the paths were here, a couple of times I had water dripping on me.

A picture to share with the girls who do the fences posts :)

And the last one for today... I loved how there were so many different plants growing out of this log.

Hope you have a fun weekend planned and can get out and enjoy the fall weather, it is going to be in the 70's here today but tomorrow back in the 80's so we are going to go out today and enjoy the more fall like temps.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hi, love to hear you stopped by,

Connie

Oh, Connie, what a sweet card, and it's true! You can't go wrong with cake for a birthday card!!

And, wow, I love the photos of the Missouri Botanical Garden. They are stunning, and how exciting to see the Climatron. We are very familiar with the geodesic system, and our son (a chemist) has worked with them and called them "Bucky Balls" in something he did. He's quite amazing and was a professor and now works for a company. Such neat applications for this system, and I visited the link and was delighted to see the description and even the zoom in and out part. I will definitely share this with my DH. Hugs, sweet friend!

I love your card!!! I can't wait to get back to my fully stocked craftroom in AZ and get my fingers inky!!!! I have a hard time making cards for boys/tenagers...I tend to be a girly girl...and as my luck would have it, I have tons of nephews...I love them though!!!!

What a beautiful conservatory in Missouri!!! I love to visit places like these. If ever you're in the Minneapolis area, please stop by the Como Conservatory...it's gorgeous!!!

Wow! That's an amazing place! You know I love it. I think that's where Marcella goes all the time for Power Poppy inspiration. I've been to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC and also to a place called The Crystal Garden in Victoria. It's all inside like this and just gorgeous, but different, I'm sure. Might be smaller. This place in Missouri looks spectacular! I'm looking forward to lots more photos. I can never take just a few, either.

I think your nephew will get a kick out of his card. It looks just right to me. I see characters like this on teen boy cards in the store. He's funny!
