Comforted

One of the ladies in my Bible study lost her mother.  I tried the Bokeh technique here is a link I just googled if you don't know about this technique HERE .  I first sponged on a few colors of distress inks and then I used  a template I made with spellbinder circle dies to sponge on the white ink, well I couldn't find the white ink pad I had used before but I did find another one to use and it was pigment ink so when I stamped the sentiment and the plant on top it just soaked up the ink and made it not stamp as dark, but I went with it cause I thought it looked ok in the end.

Distress inks -- Scattered straw, mustard seed, bundled sage, crushed olive and wild honey
Unity stamp -- Insightful meadow
Taylored Expression -- Care & Comfort sentiment stamp
Spellbinder -- classic circle dies to make template for the white dots (bokeh)

It has been raining all morning until just an hour or so ago and then it started changing to snow but none is sticking.  Hope your weather is just how you like it wherever you are :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your comments, I love hearing from you,

Connie

Oh, Connie, I'm so sorry about your friend losing her mom. I know how hard that is. But what a beautiful card, and I love how you've achieved the Bokeh technique. I've not tried it myself, but I do love the silhouette images and this wonderful verse of comfort. Beautifully done, and it's sure to bring comfort to your friend. We are having some much-needed rain, and we are in one of my favorite months here in Florida. Beautiful! Hugs!

Dear Connie a beautiful card (love the colours too) for a very sad time .. pray for your friend that God will continue to comfort her as Christmas comes close that is hard time of year too.
Re the bokeh I have done it and used pigment white chalk ink.
I think you may have need to heat set it as it takes a very long to dry and that might have helped in the black plus I used a permanent black one like Archival.
...however that being said a good way around it as I did was to stamp on vellum and overlay it .. and stamped it in white and embossed it.
