Bird in cage

My hubby and I came across these wood pieces at Hobby Lobby the other day, they come in a bag of a few different style cages, my hubby said they would be a perfect size for a card, I told him I had bought some from Michael's a little while back that I hadn't used yet so I didn't feel like I should buy more but he said oh get it, and who am I to argue :)  I thought I need to use them right away so this is my first try at using them, I will share the ones I bought at Michaels soon.

I thought this paper was so pretty for a sky background, I added a little glitter pen to the bottom of my clouds but it doesn't show up very well.
Here is a close up of the wood cages, as you can see they are very thin, and although this was hand delivered to a friend at church, I think they will go through the mail pretty well too. I only colored the part of the bird that you would see if he was in the cage.  I left the cage the wood color.

Woodpile Fun -- wooden bird cage
Memory Box Woodland branch and Grove leaves
DCWV -- THe primrose stack paper
My sentiments exactly -- Little birdie sentiment stamp set
Wink of Stella -- clear glitter pen
Fiskars -- Cloud punches

Hope you are enjoying a good day today, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

Yes, who are you to argue? Now you've got a lot of birdcages to use up, but this one is so cute, and I imagine the rest are, too. Love the branch, and the designer paper makes a lovely sky. So sweet, Connie!

Hi, Connie! How special to spend the shopping trip with your husband! He's got a great eye! I looked at some similar wood designs at Michaels recently but decided not to get them! Ouch! Bad decision after seeing your lovely design! Love that you created a darling, happy scene! Hugs, de

Very pretty card, that paper does make a good sky! The birdcage looks great. I have often wondered if the wood pieces would go through the mail. Safer thing to hand deliver.

That paper makes a lovely sky.
It is true when using wood, or any slightly thicker material, you need to make sure that they will go through the mail safely ... or consider a hand delivery!

Sending good wishes for a happy weekend

All the best Jan

Connie, I love your card! Anything with nature is my favorite. &hearts

I have a few wood pieces that I've been saving for just this very thing. I found some really fun ones after Halloween last year. I am always scouring the clearance section especially after holidays!

Oh, Connie, you and your DH are so sweet as you shop together. Walt loves to go with me too, and we always enable each other. But it's good that Greg urged you to get the bag, and what a darling card you've made. Yes, the DP was made for this card, and I love the cage hanging from this branch with the bitty leaves. And look at those clouds. Beautifully done, and I love it! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Your Hubby is a keeper!!! Your card is lovely! I love that you colored the birdie and it really looks like it's inside the cage.
I found a package of wood pieces at a thrift store recently, and you have given me an idea!
