The next challenge in the group was to make a card with a coffee theme. Well I don't like coffee, but my daughter does and she is getting ready to start her next year at Yale so I decided to make a card to wish her all the best in the coming year with her classes. I know there is usually late nights with coffee to keep her going. I used another image from the Coloring for calm calendar.
I used another used tea bag to cut out a little doily for under the cup. The little heart was part of the image so I stamped the sentiment inside of it. The gems are suppose to be the steam coming up off the cup.
Color for Calm daily calendar image, colored w/markers
Sassafras - Mix and Mend paper
Our Daily bread design- Mini tag sentiment stamp
Spellbinders - circle delight die (doily)
Clear gems
Thanks so much for stopping by today,
Connie

Lovely card, Connie. Your daughter will like the coffee theme! It’s a cute cup and I like the papers and the doily to set the cup on.
Fabulous card, love my cuppa and love this. Gosh I found some Sassafras papers in my stash recently and so old...some of them are lovely.
I too donate my cards to charity, the nuns at my church, and my daughter gives them to her foster carers....so we do good all round. I also bundle them up for gifts...xx
A lovely coffee card, just perfect for your daughter!
University and coffee seem to go in hand in hand, don't they. It seems to me students seem to have the bottomless cup of coffee on hand through those late nights of study. This is a fun card; perfect for your studious daughter. =)
this is so sweet and it came out beautifully. i enjoy reading about all the different techniques you use!!
i am not a coffee drinker either, but i love hot tea and cold sweet tea!! i wish i enjoyed coffee, i would like to drink it for the caffeine!!
Love that coffee cup, and your daughter will love what she can do with the coffee! Loving the patchy colors along the bottom border of your card, Connie. Quite an accomplishment for her to be accepted to Yale! Wow! Wishing you a great week, hugs, de
What a GREAT idea ... she will love it! Nicely done my friend!
A used tea bag for the doily? Interesting! It goes perfectly with the paper. Love that super cute tea cup with the heart, and I totally see the rhinestones as steam. Your daughter will appreciate this. You have to be so proud of her! I love my coffee. I limit it to avoid too much caffeine, but that one cup in the morning sure hits the spot!
How cute adding a doily. The steam is very creative too. I can't believe you don't like coffee, which by the way is coffee day sometime in Sept.
This is beautiful Connie! Fresh and clever; great use of some very cool colors~ I really like it! Hugs, kareno
