Shaving cream and stencil

I chose this challenge for last because I was worried it was going to be the most challenging and I think it was the easiest except for the preparation and clean up.  I did them in my kitchen and had a sink filled with soapy water so as soon as I was done with a stencil I just put it straight into the soapy water and cleaned it.

You can see the challenge how to's in THIS VIDEO.

You are to use waterbased reinkers, well I only have one color of waterbased reinker so I was trying to think what I could use, some of the girls suggested watercolor paint. Then I remember that my sparkle pens are waterbased and when you squeeze the barrel it give you drops of the ink. I don't know if this is good for the pens or not but I wanted to give the challenge a try, and it worked!!!

Here are all the backgrounds I did using the stencils.

Here is my first card using the stencil that looks like a quilt block.

The stencil is a square, I applied it to a rectangle piece of paper but I liked just the look of the actual star so I cut it done to a smaller square, I had some extra left over that I cut the sentiment out with,

Spectrum sparkle pens for my ink colors - harvest moon, Olive Jade and Smoked Quartz
TCW - stencil
PPD - mini stitched square and stitched banner dies
Spellbinders - classic square dies
Cardmaking and papercraft magazine - sentiment stamp
Recollections - glitter gem

For my second I went with the sun stencil.

I liked the marble effect it gave to this one especially.

Joggles - Sunshine stencil
Spectrum sparkle pens- Biscuit and Red berry
Spectrum Aquatint - Moonlight
Lawn Fawn - Fancy Scalloped rectangles
SRM - Thinking of you stickers
Craftaroo - clear gems

I hope the challenges this week helped spark your creativity and you can have some play time and try one of them yourself :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Connie

Oh wow, these are cool! I've never done the shaving cream technique. Sounds messy but the outcome is fun. Great cards!

Fantastic! I remember the shaving cream background and it's a lot of fun. The stencils are a new twist and I like it! I've seen Diane H do nail polish in a similar technique and I want to give that a try. Way to go, Connie!
