Periphery

I had never heard this word before so I had to look it up and it says the outer limits or edge of an area or object.  Now that is the name of the paper I used today but I will have to say that I feel the whole card could be named this, I went with all different kinds of textures and colors and so I feel I went out to the outer limits of my creativity.

These swirls were given to me and they are a sticker, the bottom half is canvas and the top portion is cork.  The bird cage is made of wood and I colored the birds with my sparkle marker to make them stand out.

Adding a couple blue dots to match the birds, they are quite thick but this is another hand delivered card, and I inked the sentiment that I stamped with some brown ink to tie in with the cork. Thanks to Leslie for this great paper to play with and to make me step out of my creative box a little :)

BasicGrey - Periphery paper
Cork Swirls maker unknown
Recollections - Wooden bird on swirl
Woodpile - bird in cage
Spectrum noir - Sparle pen in teacup on birds
Gina K - tag lines sentiment stamp
Pebbles - blue candy dots

I am a little late with my post I have been watching HSN craft day, I set up my VCR to tape it all and then I can fast forward through those items I am not interested in, I actually was going to buy a stamp set and I wrote down the number to order and then they sold out :(  It has been a nice way to spend the day in between my chores since it is still quite chilly outside, but good news we are going to go above freezing for at least a couple hours tomorrow, that will be nice :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

You certainly did get creative with your card, Connie! I knew you'd be better with that paper than me. It's very imaginative how you used the cork swirl with the birds and cage. It can be fun to work on the periphery of your comfort zone!

Fabulous card, love the textures and the gorgeous birds and cage.
DI work fine on photo paper, using the TH fabrics circles as the sponge ones squeek and don't go as smoothly. I have 5 packets of the jolly paper each time I order my printer inks they send me more photo packs...

Periphery - a hard word to pronounce - now say it three times, fast! hehe! Love your pretty card, Connie, the background is like a collage painting and the sweet bird cage and birds are a nice touch of spring. We are getting snow here as I write this. Winter doesn't want to let go. Hope your temps stay up and you get some sunshine for your week! Sending hugs xo Karen

I like the cork flourishes, I have some cork paper and die cut it while using Wine themed stamps and dies, add so much! Pretty paper, perfectly penned lol
