Anniversary

My daughter and son in law have had some extra stress during all this virus mess.  The landlords that lived on the 2nd floor of the house decided they wanted to have their mother move into the downstairs apartment because she is getting older and they wanted her closer to them. The kids really loved that place and since they do more walking then driving it was in a good location for her school and his work.  My daughter is in the part of her program for getting her Doctorate that she is now helping teach classes and so she had to learn how to do that on line during the time of searching for apartments, they were not allowed to go into these apartments only view them on line because there were still people living in them.  Just three days before their anniversary they moved into there new place, they don't like it as well as the one they had so that is a bummer but she now has her own little space that she could set up for teaching on line the next semester so that is nice.

I went a little dark with these colors after I had it made but believe it or not the first card I made them ended up looking perfect for Valentines card, so I am saving that for next year, so I had to go with this to get it out in the mail :)

This is another die I have had for quite some time and not used yet, another goodie from Spellbinders that was on sale.  I don't normally do this big size of card, I believe it was a 5x7, but I do love all the swirls in it.  The flowers even come with the set. I colored them by sponging on the inks.

Spellbinders - Romantic Rose die set
Craft Smith - Chelsea Lane paper
David Tutera - celebrate sentiment

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, we are supposed to get some rain this weekend, hopefully enough that I won't have to go out and water all my plants.

the card is beautiful, i like all the swirls too. and the fading pink you sponged into the flowers is so pretty!! in new jersey, you cannot be evicted from a rental for any reason. commercial or residential!!

i just finished watering my "pot garden". it is suppose to rain here too but i needed to fill the bird baths so i just needed up watering everything. the forecasters are so often wrong!!

have a happy weekend connie!!

While it is sad that your daughter and SIL had to move, I'm so glad they are enjoying a new home that allows her to further her education and have a special place for doing what is needed as she pursues her dream. Your card is lovely! The contrast in the dark color combinations is so pretty, Connie! hugs, de

Beautiful dies and you've certainly put them to great use! Sorry the 'kids' didn't find a more suitable place and I'm sure it was very stressful not being able to see inside in person! Wishing them happy times ahead! Great job on their card! Well done Mom! LOL

I am glad your daughter and son-in-law found another place to live. It must be difficult to make a decision with only viewing the place on-line. These COVID times are certainly trying. The card you have fashioned, Connie, is lovely....such gorgeous colours.

I'm sorry to hear of your daughter's difficulties, but I do understand from the landlord's point of view. Seems like it would be hard to pick an apartment when you can't go into it. I'm glad it worked out in the end. Everything seems harder these days. Your card reminds me of elegant iron scroll work. Beautiful!

Hi Connie - oh your post sounds a lot like a momma with your concern for them and the challenges of a move during an already challenging time! I'm glad they are settled - and just in time to celebrate the 3rd year! Your card is beautiful - I really love the colors together and your dies with the scrollwork really make it shine! have a great weekend!
