Basket of Tulips

I went to my first store since surgery, hubby suggested a place were I wouldn't have far to walk from the parking lot, and what I like to look at is right up front so we went to Barnes and Nobles, he knows I love to check out the stamps and dies magazines from the UK.  When I saw this spring stamp set with the little basket, I had to get it.  I have a couple other baskets but they are much bigger.

I stamped, colored and cut out 4 sets of tulips to put in the basket but ended up only using 3 it was just a little too much with 4.  The handle at the very top is very thin so that was a little tricky for me to cut out, and then the flowers ended up covering most of it in the end.

Just before making the card I had done a zoom meeting with my stamp group and we were doing backgrounds on the Gelli plates, and this one didn't work out like it was supposed to and it was laying on my desk and I had put the basket on it, while I was getting other supplies and came back and thought it didn't look to bad so I decided to use it and wanted to add a little something so I got out my embossing folder and made a frame for it.

  • Crafts Beautiful magazine - March 2021- Spring stamp and die set, colored w/markers
  • Stampin up - Frame tulips embossing folder
  • Prima - 8 point doily die
  • Vellum tag
  • Queen & co. - Gold Jellies

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Have a wonderful weekend,

Connie

What a beautiful basket of tulips, and I love the background you used as well. It's always great to find a way to use those "rejects" or crafting "fails!" I love the addition of the doily too!

Good for you getting out to a store, especially one you enjoy so much. And just look what a treasure you found! I think your background looks very cool. There's always something you can do with the fails and, as it turns out, they're not really fails after all!

This is one pretty designed creation, great colours too. Glad you got out to the store, love shopping only for craft goodies....hubby does the groceries which I hate doing. xx

My choice would be Barnes and Noble, too. =) LOVE that store! This is a pretty card, Connie. Love that background. It adds such beauty to those pretty tulips.

So beautiful, so Spring like! Here's a trick for thin lines like that handle. Stamp the image twice, once on to an oval or circle etc die cut, fussy cut out the other one and glue onto the stamped one (cutting off the entire handle on the fussy cut basket) Love this card and that doily! Hey, I am just getting out my gel press and paints....fingers crossed!

Very pretty Connie. Your new basket stamp is delightful and so well coloured. I was a little disappointed with my background too, as it didn't blend as well as the others so I thought I'd try it again. Still used it. Will finish it up and post it to the gallery.

That's great that you got to get out and walk. I, too, like those UK magazines. No access to them since everything is shut down.
