do what you love

I think we need to be reminded every now and then in our busy lives to take out time and do what we love.

I brought out my border embossing folder today, that is where it started, I wanted it embossed on this patterned paper, can you believe I put it in the embossing folder backwards so that the embossed side was on the white, I found just the piece I wanted and trimmed it down to fit in the embossing folder, so I decided to try flipping it over and embossing again and see how it looked and I didn't think it looked bad at all, in the close up picture you can see both embossing but when I added ink to the embossed side I thought it worked ok, now what to put with it. I have been wanting to use my wood slices more and I found the mushroom in an ephemera pack and added one of my stamped wrens to it.

  • Recollections - Tall grass embossing folder, inked with gathered twigs distress ink on patterned paper
  • The Greetery - Wood Slices die and Wren & Robin stamp and die
  • Tim Holtz - Field Notes Ephemera and small talk sentiment
  • DCWV - Tattered time papers

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and hope you have a great weekend!!

Connie

Hi Connie, this is very sweet and calming a card - it worked so well despite your back to frontness!
Sorry I've been quiet - life has been super hectic as you rightly mention.we have our daughter living with us, between jobs, for an unspecified time! Never say never...a lot of people go through this ...smile..strange times we live in. Hope you are well. God bless!

Yes, always find time to do the things that you love, that make you heart sing. Your beautiful card makes my heart sing, Connie, the background, the wood, the mushroom....and the sweet little birdie. Such a pretty, peaceful card.

Oh, how beautiful, Connie! I love all things nature related. I totally agree that no matter how busy we get we must take time for the things we love.

Great save on that embossed piece Connie! The debossed part looks like you meant it to be in the background! Such a lovely nature card!

Lovely nature card. If you look close AND know you embossed it twice then you can look really hard for it and see it, but I doubt anyone else would. If they do I think I they would just think that adds some depth. I think it looks great!

Super card. Isn't it maddening when an embossing folder goes in wrong side? Grr, but your piece turned out lovely. Nice layering with the green/blue. I just bought the wood slice and it looks so pretty on your card. It really says nature with the mushroom, bird and wood.

I make that ‘mistake’ with the embossing folder quite often ;-)
Your card is lovely, no one else would ever notice I’m sure.
