I managed another challenge, this time we were to use the negative from cutting out a die on our card. I cut out the Dogwood blossom and put a couple of scrap paper behind it. I have seen these done a lot but don't think I have ever done it before and it is a great way to get two cards out of one cut, now I can use the actual cut out on another card.
I am sharing this card with Stephanie's Roses of Inspiration, stop by and see what others are up to today!
It is kind of hard to tell but the green paper I used behind the leaves has a bit of linen texture on it.
Memory Box -- Dogwood Blossom die
Paper Smooches -- Happy Birthday sentiment stamp

Making Memories -- Button
Another great way to use up some of our left over scrap pieces.
If you are looking at this post today January 26th, HSN (home shopping network) is having Craft supplies almost all day. I DVR them all, they started at Midnight eastern time and run almost throughout the whole day. I watched the first hour while having my breakfast this morning and they already have a new never before seen mini machine for small dies and embossing folders and some cool glitter pens, the pens are on the expensive side but everything you buy today is only $4.95 shipping for your total order, that is a great deal if you are picking up a few items. I don't buy a lot through them but I love seeing the new products being shown and there are always great ideas for cards.
Hope you have a great day and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Just yesterday I saw a sweet bird card made like this -- makes me want to try it too!
Oh Connie, love the use of the negative die and how you created the flower.
Hugs Diane
Oh, Connie, this is a beautiful card using the negative from a die-cut! It's a wonderful way to be thrifty - hehe! I'm of Scottish descent (my dad was born in Scotland), so I come by it naturally! But truly, it's a beautiful card with the textured papers and the sweet floral DP for the flower itself! Yes, there are lots of good deals, but one does have to weigh the cost of shipping, etc. Hugs, sweet friend, and I hope you are keeping warm!
So lovely!! Thanks SO much for always taking the time to visit and to let me know that you did! I so appreciate it!!
Hugs,
Deb
Good idea to use up your bits like that, it makes a pretty card.
I hope you ordered at least a little treat for yourself
from the bargains on tv! :)
So sweet , Connie and all the sweeter to know you can get two for one!
Have a great week!
i am able to see the linen texture and i like the use of the button and the twine?? dogwoods, one of my favorites but i do say that about all the flowering trees ;)
beautiful, as always!!!
I really love this! It's so cool how the cut out looks with the paper behind it. Especially textured paper! One of my favorites so far :-)
I love the linen paper, Connie. Using negative space pieces is always fun and sometimes turns out better than the positive ones. I am going to avoid the HSN channel at all cost today. I rarely look at it anyway but I am a sucker for crafts......
Such a pretty card, Connie. What a clever idea to use the negative die, as you say you can use the positive one as well another time. Isn't it funny how there is always something new on the market. People are so very clever in designing new and original things all the time.
I always feel in awe watching at your amazing art, and every time you put me in high spirits with the cheerfulness you always share, my lovely !
Have a day blessed with love

Hi Connie, love this reverse cutout card. So pretty and like you said, gave you a flower for another card. Anyone would love this birthday card. So fresh and spring like. Sounds like the shopping network has some great buys for paper crafting. Cold and don't have to leave the house to shop.
Have a great day and happy card creating! Blessings xo
Oh! I almost missed this! Soooo pretty with the yellow, which I LOVE, and the pink dogwood in the negative cut. Such a delicate and lovely card! I've bought from HSN online before and gotten some fabulous deals.
Beautiful card Connie! I've been meaning to do this technique when I create cards, but I always forget. I have a few Valentines Day cards to make, so this would be the perfect opportunity to try the negative technique. Thanks for sharing!
Just beautiful! I love the button detail!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Hugs and love from Portugal,
