Floral Birthday

The sentiment for today's card comes from a Birthday card quote book, all I did was cut it out with a die and added a big of ink to highlight the words. This ended up turning out a lot more spring like for a fall birthday.

The flowers  and leaves were also die cut, shaped and layered, with some liquid pearls added to the centers. I also added a piece of paper ribbon to divide the two papers I used but by the time I added the flowers you can't really see it.

Hot off the press - Cardmakers Birthday card quotes
Spellbinders - Romantic Rectangles die
Papertrey ink - Hodge podge papers
K&co. - Smitten white paper ribbon
Tim Holtz - Small tattered florals die
Liquid Pearls - lemon yellow (flower centers)

Do you always stick with the colors of the season with your crafting and gift giving?

Hope your week is off to a good start, thanks so much for stopping by,

Connie

Very pretty, and flowers are never out of season for a birthday card!

Sometimes those spring cards just happen. No, I don't stick with the colors of the season unless I'm going to be sending the card right away, and sometimes not even then. This is pretty anytime of year, Connie. That bit of paper ribbon peeking out is one of those little touches that makes the card more special. Maybe you don't notice it at first, but then there it is like a little surprise. The more you look, the more you love.

Your card is lovely! I don't always stick to the seasonal colors if it is a birthday or general card. Great job!

Hi there Connie,
Beautiful card you have for us today! Those flowers are soo pretty! You have shaped them well; so natural. (I think I have that die; need to use it!) Lovely paper choices also. I don't usually stick to seasonal colors when it comes to birthday cards. I guess it depends on who they are for : )
Hugs to you, karen o

This is simply lovely Connie! What a great way to emphasize the die cut sentiment by adding ink. Spring colors, fall colors, it's beautiful either way!!

What a stunning, stunning card. I love the flowers you made. I never through about making for the season before, so I'd have to say no I don't. This card is going to be well loved.

i don't make too many cards connie, and when i do, i often just use one of my pictures...they are nothing like the ones you make. with that said, i do stick to the seasons and during the fall, i will use pictures of pumpkins, mums and fall leaves!!

but even though this cards looks a little springy, it is too bright and beautiful not to love any time of year!!

The colors in the card remind me of late summer/early autumn. Very dainty too!
