I love that I am all caught up with my birthday cards so that I am able to spend some time making cards for friends and family that are going through some rough times at the moment. This friend happens to always have such beautiful gardens and so I thought this might be a pick me up card to get her excited for the coming spring planting season.
I chose to color with pencils since these houses and birds are quite small but I still am not happy with my results with coloring pencils, maybe it is just coloring these small items in general that I don't do well, I tried to use colors in this garden print paper. I even bought paper that said it was for pencils.
Great impressions - G 517 stamp colored w/pencils
BasicGrey - picadilly paper
Spellbinders - Labels 11, Lg deckled rectangle and Labels trio dies
Hero Arts - everyday sayings sentiment stamp
Craftaroo - Rhinestones
We did get our snow on Sunday with a lot of blowing wind, and I woke up this morning to 5 degrees with windchill of -11, but the sun is shinning bright, so all is well, at least until I have to get out today and do some errands, LOL!
Hope you all had a nice weekend and I hope that the week ahead is a great one,
Connie

Super cute colored birdhouses Connie. Wow those are cold temperatures, I am certainly looking towards warmer weather.
Hugs Diane
What a cute garden themed card --- makes me all the more anxious for spring to arrive! Thankfully our temps aren't nearly as cold as yours and we do have daffodils blooming!
I think you might be too hard on yourself with this coloring, I think it looks very good! It’s a cute card and sure to brighten your friends day!
She will love it, Connie! The little birdhouses are so cute, and that fun background paper is fantastic! Wonderful card. Can't believe you had snow -- it's in the 80s here and my Caladiums are coming up that don't usually show until the end of May or beginning of June! But we are to have frost Wednesday and Thursday - sigh - better than snow, though - but We will put sheets out on top of rows and rows of our veggie garden, which we planted early due to the warm temps.
Wishing you a great week! hugs, de
How cute!Hugs!
Connie, oh I love that sweet birdie card! ♥
Oh, Connie, this is just adorable and the paper is way too cute! Way to cheer up a friend! They say paper with some "tooth" to it is best for pencils and this looks like toothy paper, but I don't have much luck with toothy paper. I'm not so great with pencils but need to get more comfortable with them. I'm finding Copics to be rather high maintenance, not to mention costly, sigh... but they're quick when they work well.
As long as the sun is shining, then all is good. =) Another pretty card. Those bird houses are super cute. I love the fun background paper.
Such pretty Designer Paper for your background. I adore all of those birdhouses and the sweet birds on this image. SPRING!!!
