Day outing

I was going through my pictures and found this folder that I had never shared of our day trip we took back in May.

First up is a few pictures from Hickory Canyon Natural Area, Missouri. This area was right off the road and there was a trail on either side, hubby wanted to get some pictures of a waterfall that was supposed to be down there. Of course it wasn't too hard going down until we hit an area that was just too rugged for me, so hubby went on by himself to get some pictures of it, going back up was quite the chore.

I loved the texture on this tree, do you think they will ever make embossing folders for our card making with this much texture :)

We saw so many plants that we haven't seen before at both places we went.

Next up we went to Hawn State park, Missouri we picked a trail to walk down and after you walk back a ways you can hear the creek running through, so pretty with that and the songs of the birds, it was a really nice walk, you had to do a little walking off the path to get down to the water.

When we got to this area of the path it was looking a little to rocky for my taste, I am a little nervous about twisting my ankle or falling when it get's this rocky so we decided to turn around.

The picture above is how the trail was up until we hit all those rocks.

On our way out of the park we pulled over and took a picture of this field, so pretty with it's different types of wild flowers.

I will be back tomorrow with another card, I just had so many pictures to share I thought I would just share those today.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Oh Connie I just love when you share photos of your adventures! That tree bark is awesome ... yes, how cool would that be to have an embossing folder to get that effect! Don't blame you on being cautious with those rocky paths ... smart lady!! I always enjoy seeing the different flowers out in Nature. I think when we went to Alaska I took more pictures of the flowers than anything else ... just so different in different areas. SO COOL ... thanks for sharing!

Beautiful photos. I wish they would make an embossing folder of that gorgeous tree bark. What a clever idea.

Such a beautiful place and, oh my, yes, I love that tree bark! So many pretty wildflowers. Really love the pic of the daisies and fence. The one trail is rugged and rather like stair steps. At least it's not a lot of loose smaller rocks. Those are the ones that get me. I recently injured myself on a rocky slope in our own yard! Again, you make me want to get out there! We had one little camping trip in May. Then some things came up and we've been stuck at home. Hoping July is a better month. Thanks for sharing these inspiring photos, Connie!
