Old Friends

Are you still friends with your childhood friends?  I am lucky to say that I am still friends with my next door neighbor, we grew up together, we are lucky to have Facebook where we can keep up with each other, along with email, one of the great perks of our technology today.

Awhile back when going through my daily calendar images I saw this one and made me think of my friend so I saved it out to use on her birthday card.  I colored it with a combination of pencils and my extra fine markers, there are a lot of small details here.

Isn't that a great sentiment for a friendship that has lasted 55 years!

Cheerful Journey coloring calendar - colored w/pencils & markers
Memory Box - Stitched Rectangle layer
Echo park - Fine and Dandy paper
Stampin up - black jewels

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and say Hi,

Connie

What a fabulous card for your long time friend and yes that sentiment is awesome! I'm happy to report that I have stayed in touch with many 'old' friends one of which goes back to 1st grade and we still get together for lunch or chat on the phone as often as we can (she in PA and me in Ohio) we will both be 70 this year so yes ... we go WAY BACK! LOL Great card and the colors are fabulous! Thanks for inspiration my friend!

This is a beautiful sentiment and card for your childhood friend, Connie. I have a lifelong friend. Sometimes those friends who have been with us for what seems a lifetime, through the good and the bad are wonderful, are to be treasured.

It's so nice you have a long friendship with your girlfriend. Won't she be excited to receive this lovely card, which I thought came froma precoloured calendar. Imagine my surprise when I read you colored it. Great job Connie!

Those are the prettiest owls that I have ever seen. I think it is wonderful that you have a 55 year old friendship. I'm afraid that I changed schools so often as a child that I never had a chance for long relationships. I did see a lot of the country thou.

What a sweet saying for your old friend! I Love the owls and the coloring. I do not keep up with any of my childhood friends. There is probably one or two that I could track down.

I love LOVE the image and the sentiment that's with it! Your friend will love it, too. I'd have to think... some of my friends I've had since high school. Some grade school friends I had, but they passed away. Most of my current friends I've had for 30-40+ years. I love my friends. They're like sisters.
