Reindeer fun

In my stamp group challenge this week we were given a slimline card challenge and she showed us an example and we were to use either color scheme, layout or any other inspiration from it, I went with the layout.  I had these cute little reindeer that would work great for the layout of the card.

I will have to say I am not happy with my choices of browns, why can't I find browns that seem to work well with each other, uggghhh.  I even tried some new pens to no such luck, even in my colored pencils I can't seem to find good browns.  If you have a favorite set of 3 colors of brown you like in the pens you own I would love to hear :)

I thought this tree pattern paper would be a nice backdrop for the reindeer. Cut holes with my die. There are little ornaments in the set and I stamped them onto the background.

Mama Elephant - Reindeer Fun stamp and die set, colored w/markers
Paper Studio - Cozy Christmas paper
Gemini - Torn edge circle die

I am adding my card to the Sisterhood of Crafters Ink it up challenge.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hi, and have a wonderful creative weekend!

i also think the browns look great, i'm not really sure what you don't like about them!! sometimes when i don't like a color i try mixing 2 shades and see if that works. love the tree paper for the background, i think it works really well on the card!!

it's super hot and humid here, i think it may be by you also. stay cool and stay safe!!!

Love this adorable card!! The background is perfect for those adorable reindeer, and I love how you added the ornaments to it! I know what you mean about the browns -- I usually test them together on a scrap piece of paper before I color my images and I still get it "off" sometimes!

OMG so cute and I think your browns look fine! But, I know what you mean ... I have all these Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and every time I need to use brown it's either too red, or too light or too dark ... who would have thought brown would be a problem???
Anyways ... awesome creation and great job on the slimline design! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Sisterhood of Crafters challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Super duper cute. The birch trees are very attractive. Nice colouring of these cute images. Sorry about you feeling the browns were wrong. I'm no help because I rarely use brown. I think I only have two favourite colours in the Prismacolours I own. The rest are funky.

This is reindeer fun, for sure! What an adorable card, Connie! I have lots of browns and would like to have more. Among the brown Copics I have I seem to get best blending with the E21 through E29 range. I also like E11 through E17 for a more cinnamon brown range. Oddly, there doesn't seem to be any good combos in the Prismacolor pencil browns. Watercolors are so much easier!

I think your card is as sweet as can be Connie! The browns look good on my computer. Maybe you just need to step away for a day and go back to look at it. I sometimes find that I'm so into a card I see every detail that I don't like. After a day of walking away I go back and it doesn't look that bad. Copic markers have a lot of different tones of browns. Thanks for linking up to the Sisterhood of Crafters challenge. Best of luck to you!
