Teams meeting cards

Our group got together again this month for another card making session. This time we were supposed to pick out colored cardstock, and a pattern paper piece that wasn't too busy, we tore that piece and added it to the middle of the cardstock piece. Then we gathered our small stamps, I am thinking I used at least 3 or 4 stamps on each one. We stamped all around the edge, over lapping onto the pattern paper.  Then it was up to us what else we wanted to add to the card.  I made 4 backgrounds but only made two of them into cards, both for birthdays I have coming up.

  • 49 and Market - Bird song stamps for stamping around the edges and bird sitting on
  • Simon says stamps - Songbird die
  • Fiskars scissors - to cut out definition
  • Poppystamps - Lovely sprig tendril die

  • Stamperia - Secret Diary stamps
  • Paper Studio - Ephemera
  • Fiskars - Essential Sayings sentiment stamp
The tag on the ephemera piece was blank so I could add my own sentiment, I used two from the set.

I thought this was a neat way to use some of those smaller stamps we have in our stash, and some of the scraps of pattern paper too :)

Yesterday was above freezing and today also, tomorrow below again but I will take these couple of warmer days :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

You have been very busy. Your cards are lovely. I especially like the bird one with the music and the post mark, nice touch.

It must be really great to craft together with others. Unfortunately, I don't have that opportunity.
Your cards turned out beautifully, I especially love the one with the bird.
I also received a card. Did you get my email?

They both turned out so pretty! Love how the same idea can make 2 completely different cards. I used to get together with a scrapbooking group and I miss those days so much! Maybe I could find a way to start a craft club or something? Hmmm 😉

How pretty both your cards are! I'm partial to anything with nature, especially birds. I miss stamping with a friend group. Connie, I sent you an email and I hope you receive it.

these are both beautiful cards. i love the way paper looks when it is torn. i think it's great you have a group of people to work with, who enjoy making cards. "sending" cards is a dying art with young people, none of my relatives ever send me a card, just you. i fear one day people might not know what they are...and the joy of receiving one!!

The torn‑paper strip paired with the collage of small stamps creates such an engaging frame, and the overlapping impressions give the whole design a soft, vintage rhythm. Both cards feel thoughtfully composed, but the bird panel really stands out with its mix of music, postmark, and that delicate sprig. It is a clever way to put those tiny stamps and patterned scraps to work, and the results look warm and personal.

Gorgeous! That bird is lovely. I plan on doing the same thing with SU birds but just haven't finished my card yet.

What a fun technique and I love the cards you created with it! It's always so much fun to stamp your own background.
