Let it snow

Over at the Double D challenge blog they have a Let it snow challenge right now. Once I realized I didn't have all my Christmas cards done that I wanted to do in time to get to people before Christmas I decided to start on winter themed cards, and this challenge was perfect.  I had just received this big snowflake die in the recent Cardmaking and papercraft magazine so you know I had to use it :)

I started off by using a few different Distress inks to make the background, then splashed a little water on the background and lifted with a paper towel,  sorry I forgot to write down which ones I used.

Sara Signature collection- winter wonderland- Frosty Christmas die set, big snowflake
Martha Stewart- snowflake punches
Simon Says - Tiny words Christmas
Distress ink background

Did anyone go out yesterday to get any deals, we did and didn't find much.  I almost came home with a kitty but I took too long to decide if I should adopt it and when we went back someone had already adopted it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Connie

Of course you had to use it and it's so pretty! Those are super nice snowflake punches, too. I gladly stayed home yesterday. I hope the kitty went to a good home.

What a fabulous idea! That background is beautiful and just perfect for your snowflakes! GREAT JOB!! Nope, I didn't go out yesterday but I did hear a few other friends say how disappointed they were. Guess the retailers marked down everything early in hopes of more sales.
Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Let It Snow’ challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Soon after Christmas, Japanese people start preparing for the year-end and New Year’s events.
Compared to Christmas, many of these events are based on Japanese tradition and are deeply related to religion.
The end-of-year party is called “bonenkai” in Japanese. “Bonen” means to forget (the worries of) the past year.
People are busy with events on New Year’s Eve.

I love the blues in the background, Connie. Very soothing and perfect for the snowflakes!

I didn't go shopping for after Christmas specials. Too bad about the kitty. ♥

i have a nasty cold, worse than a usual cold plus my son has been here (he left yesterday) so ...long story, even longer, i did not get to the stores for after christmas sales. chuck bought me wrapping paper at costco last year and i will not be needing wrapping paper until the day i die!! hehehehehe
