When I saw this stamp at the yard sale at my Stamp store last summer I was all excited, this is one of the light houses in Mackinaw city, Michigan that we go to quite often. I knew my girlfriend that I grew up with would love this since she also loves Michigan light houses, although this one isn't her favorite I knew she would think it was neat and she did :)
I cut it out with my postcard die, thought that would be perfect, I colored it with markers, using the actual picture to try and get the colors right.
I don't often see it from this side I see it from the water side since there is a nice walk along the water we always do to get pictures of the bridge that you have seen me share many times. I went back and I don't see where I have ever shared a picture of the light house, so I will share it now. This is standing with the water to my back so this is the backside of the house.
I googled the company whose name was on the stamp and I couldn't find anything so I think they may not be in business anymore, I wonder how many more lighthouse stamps may be out there :)
Sunnyside Stamps - L110, Old Mackinac point light, colored w/markers

So neat to come across something that brings joy to others :)
Hope you are having a good start to your week, we are very cold here, wind chills are terrible but the sun is shinning once again and that makes me very happy :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Your stamp is so lovely and so appropriate to your area... How lucky to have found it... Your artistic flair has produced a beautiful card... Bravo !!!
What a pretty card! That is neat that you could find a specific lighthouse stamp. So many of them are non specific. I like the red striped paper too. Great job!
Wow! You did a great job replicating it, Connie! Beautifully done! hugs, de
How wonderful to have found such a stamp as that one! Beautiful light house and you have created a lovely card for your dear friend.
A number of years ago we visited Mackinac Island, our dear Stephanie was just a teen at the time, beautiful place.
My all time favorite movie is "Somewhere in Time" of course it was filmed there which made it even more special.
Have a beautiful day~
This is AWESOME and I bet your friend had an INSTANT smile upon receiving your wonderful card! Thanks for sharing the photo of the actual light house and your coloring on the stamped image is fabulous! Well done!
Stay warm ... very cold here in Akron, OH too so I think I'll just keep making cards! LOL
Hugs
How cool to happen upon a find like that. I'm glad your girlfriend appreciated her lighthouse card. I'll bet it was a big surprise to her.
Have a great week.
The actual lighthouse is beautiful and so is the stamp! I know your friend was delighted with this card. How perfect the red striped paper and postage stamp edge is with it!
I love lighthouses. Any and all of them.
Connie, you did that lighthouse justice with your stamping and coloring. I'm not very good at coloring with markers so I usually stick with colored pencils. xo
This is so neat! I love your card. Thanks for sharing the real picture too!
Beautiful colouring, love this stamp..x
