Color Challenge

My card making group had a new challenge and it is a color challenge, when I read the colors I thought oh my what am I going to do with those colors, when I couldn't sleep early this morning this card came to mind :)

The colors we were to use are... Lime Green, Brown, Pink and Turquoise.  Now I went through all my stuff and these colors are the closest I could come to Turquoise.  Before I put the gems onto the pink flowers they looked more turquoise. The embossed piece is one I had in my stash and I just cut it out and inked the inside while the die was still in the paper.

I have started to make cards for those in our church that live alone, starting with those that are in nursing homes or assisted living, I am hoping that the bright colors brightens her day.

Lawn Fawn - Outside stitched scalloped rectangle die
Spellbinders - Labels eight die
Tim Holtz - small tattered florals dies
Our Daily bread designs - Hello die
Me & my big ideas - gems

We have just got the word to shelter in place here in Illinois. We are told that we can go get groceries or to the pharmacy or doctor but that is it and not to be in contact with anyone else but those in our families.  I sure do hope all these precautions we are taking will stop this quickly and things can get back to normal.  The cases in Illinois has really jumped over the past 24 hours but when you hear all the deaths in Italy after the past 24 hours it hits home and lets you know how important this all is.

Pray that you all stay well, and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

Gorgeous colors and design Connie. Yes we are also only supposed to go out to grocery stores or pharmacy. I guess this is the new norm for a while.

Stay well.

So sorry I’ve not been commenting on your blog posts Connie. Daily life seem to have been a little fraught just lately, but I’m hoping things will be back to ‘normal’ now. You have made some gorgeous cards, which I’m sure will bring a lot of joy to the recipients. Keep safe.

This card is so bright and cheery! It is wonderful you are making cards for those who can't get out at this time. Sorry to hear about the total lockdown, but I do hope this will help. We are not there yet in SC. Have a good day!

Beautiful. Just my colours. Your layers are nice.

I guess you'll get lots of cards made with the shelter in place.

Here in NJ we have been ordered to shelter in place too. Do you have a curfew? Ours is 6 am - 8 pm. Praying everyone is safe and healthy.

That looks like turquoise to me! It sure is a pretty card. Very spring like and feminine. Oregon now has a stay at home order, too. We can go out for essentials or anywhere outside if we stay away from other people. All state and national parks are closed now, so that limits things somewhat. We thought we'd go for a drive tomorrow and maybe let the dogs out to run around, but not sure where that might be.
