Thinking of you

I forgot to post this card when I posted the other sympathy cards I made, I went with a vintage feel to this one, after the passing of her mother. I do love the Botanicals in this paper pack.

  • Hot off the press - Botanical Library 6x6 pattern cardstock (image)
  • Torn Book page
  • Fiskars - Essential Sayings sentiment stamp
  • Background paper from my scraps bin

Thanks so much for stopping by and those of you in the States, hope you can keep warm, there is a lot of cold around.

Connie

Hi, Connie! You wouldn't know it by my designs, but I'm VERY drawn to anything that contains words in the background or as a design feature (opposed to main focus). The torn strip in this card, and the background in the topped use multiple fonts and "flavors" in your wonderful design!
I know you live in a REALLY COLD area! Hoping you have stayed warm and healthy. We will be below freezing for a possible 5 days in a row here (that is not typical in central rural FL). Farmers are expected to have a lot of losses :-(
Other than that, we are nice and cozy inside. May everyone enjoy warmth, snuggly blankets, and love during the weather extremes.

Your card is absolutely beautiful. It contains 3 of my favorite elements, papers with words on them, a vintage look and lots of layers. You put these papers together nicely. You made a very lovely card that can be used for several other occasions as well. Excellent job! You stay warm where you are. Tomorrow we are about to go into a deep freeze here in MN. We are more used to it than some of the lower states like FL. I heard they were going to get snow. Snow in FL? WOW! Happy stamping!

The vintage direction works beautifully here. The botanicals feel soft and comforting, and the torn book page adds such a thoughtful layer of meaning. The mix of textures gives the design a gentle depth that suits the occasion so well.

So utterly beautiful, Connie! Lovely papers accented with the torn page, and the botanicals, sigh... all combine to make a thoughtfully gorgeous card. Stay cozy and keep making cards!
