Spring to fall

I had to laugh I was looking through my stamps for something to use for my girlfriends birthday and saw the trees and thought oh I could color these Autumn colors. So off I stamped it and of course started off with the trees then I get down to the bottom half of the card and realize, oh no this is supposed to be a spring scene with all the spring flowers, well I had already made it Autumn on the top half so I just kept going with the oranges for the flowers :)

  • Northwoods 2010 stamp- color w/markers
  • Die cut frame unknown

New Home

My nephew recently bought his first house. My brother tells me that after he graduated high school that they told him he could still live at home rent free as long as that money went into a savings account for him to by his own house, I just thought that was a great idea and he did it!  Now he is all set if and when he ever gets married.

The clouds were stenciled and the rest are all die cuts.  I added some pattern paper behind the house windows.

  • Poppystamps - Brevilla Houses die (I used just one), country fence die and Stitched Landscape  dies
  • My Favorite Things - Cloud stencil using tumbled glass distress ink
  • Memory Box - Flying birds die
  • Taylored Expressions - Evergreens die
  • Hot off the press - 130 tiny words and Phrases stickers sentiment

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Star Bright

The Christmas challenge in my card making group this month was stars.  Now I have little stars above the nativity but other than that my stars are limited but I did find a star ornament for my first card and the second I just cut some stars that went with a sentiment that had a star and some star paper I had.

The first card measures at 5 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches.

  • Hot off the press - Christmas ornaments for colorist, colored w/markers
  • Diamond Press - Happy Holidays stamp, embossed with Altenew Antique Gold embossing powder

The paper and the sentiment came from a cardmaking magazine, I used metallic cardstock to cut the mat to the sentiment and the stars.

  • Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine Issue 176 for paper and sentiment embossed with silver embossing powder
  • Spellbinders - Labels 11 die
  • Poppystamps - Super stars dies
  • Graphix - Metallic cardstock

Well that is two down for this month, need to make 3 more :)

Masculine Autumn

I brought out my wood veneers (leaf and acorn) for this card today. I colored them with my sparkle pens and then misted with water to have them blend, I think it gave pretty results. The feather was cut from a background I had smooshed with inks.

  • Ms. Sparkle & co. - Wood Veneers, colored w/Spectrum sparkle pens (leaf and acorn)
  • Feather die, not sure if it is from Memory box or not?
  • JoAnn Scrap essentials - 60 quotes and sentiment vellum, cut w/scissors
  • Jute

I am adding my card to the Four Season Challenge blog I used the bottom right image for my inspiration

Sunflowers

I went back to a Sunflower stamp from 2010 today for my birthday card I needed. This is the first time I tried water coloring it. My sister in law gave me some water color paper and it was a bit thin and the colors didn't seem to mix well, but I think it came out ok.  I wonder if the thinner watercolor paper would be good for backgrounds, that is what I am going to try next with it.

  • Northwoods Rubber stamp - 2010, watercolored
  • K&co. - Birthday and celebrate vellum stickers sentiment
  • Stampin up - Regal enamel shapes

I will be sharing my card today with the following challenges:

The Flower Challenge - Use a sentiment

Retro Rubber challenge - Anything goes

On a shelf

I was very lucky last month to have won some goodies from the Penny Black Blog and this is one of the dies I picked from their wonderful collection of goodies.  I thought there could be a whole bunch of things I could put on the shelf so it would be a great set to go with.  I made my own frame for the sentiment out of dies from another set, but all the rest comes from this set.

The vases were cut from a piece I had added a bit of paint to a black cardstock.  I thought it made them look like those white old ceramic jugs you see in the antique stores.

  • Penny Black - Autumn Decor dies
  • 49 and Market - 6x8 Vintage artistry In the Leaves paper
  • PPD - Mini stitched squares to make the frame
  • ODBD - Mini tag sentiment stamp

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and say Hi, and hope you have a great week ahead.
We are going to get freezing temps the next two nights and wake up to feels like temps in the teens tomorrow, but they tell us this weekend will be in the 70's so that will be perfect!

Birds of a Feather

Sharing two cards today, this time of year I have many guy cards to make,  one that took a little more time than the other.

The first card I would like to share with the Sisterhood of Crafters challenge which is Masculine.

  • Spellbinders Labels 29
  • Craft n Craftin - Scrapbooking Peel-off stickers

The embossed image on this card was sent to me from a fellow card maker, I just cut around the embossing and did a touch of sanding. The burlap tag was sent from another card maker and I just cut an oval to stamp  sentiment on it, did a little inking around it and added the metal shapes.

  • Embossed image given to me
  • Burlap tag
  • Spellbinder oval die
  • ODBD - Mini tag sentiments
  • Ki - Metal accents
That is all for me today, hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

We just got back from a trip to Michigan to see our family, it was a very nice visit and we were able to see some pretty fall colors too.  Some people have mentioned about my new picture at the top of my blog. It is from my home town in Michigan, not far from the house I grew up in down by the river this tree always turns a beautiful red, this picture was taken last year.

I am trying to play catch up with all your blogs so I hope to get to them all very soon :)

In the woods

Look at all these goodies you can find in the woods.  The wood piece is from my coloring calendar as is the mushroom and feather. The paper is from a friend and it already had the sticker Autumn on it, so I added the happy and birthday to it. The leaf is one that I cut from a piece of cardstock I had colored with inks prior.

  • Coloring for Calm daily calendar - Wood piece, mushroom, feather all colored w/markers
  • scrap paper
  • My Favorite thing - Label maker sentiment

Bring on the Happy

I gave myself a challenge to go through the goodies other card makers have given me over the years and use them, so I picked an envelope and this flower background was one of the images in that envelope, it was given to me in 2017, I think it was high time to use it, don't you think :)  There was no writing on the back to say what the stamp was.  I colored it with markers and added one of my double sided flower dies to it. I did a little splattering of white paint to the background, I wish I would have thought to use gold I think that would have been prettier.

  • Gemini - Cosmo's double sided dies
  • Stamped image unknown, colored w/markers
  • Penny black - Sprinkles and smiles stamped sentiment
  • White paint splatters

I am sharing todays card with the Sisterhood of Crafters were the challenge is to use Happy in your sentiment.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
