Scraps Challenge

Another challenge in our cardmaking group was to use scraps, now I was keeping my scraps to just a basket but now I have 4 different containers that I put smaller scraps, I really need to stop this, but I just hate throwing away paper I think I may be able to use at some point.

I started with the circle die and went from there, cutting scraps out with my dies. I just kept looking through my die container for things that would go together. The circle the sentiment is stamped on was the leftover piece from the circle die.

  • Memory Box - Surely stitched circle die,  Pennington Rose Blossom  and Leavenworth Butterfly Trio dies
  • Stamps of life - Postmarks 2 stamp sentiment stamp

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Connie

You never know when you might want to cut a word or butterfly or some other little thing from one of those scraps, and you've done so beautifully here! I, too, have the hardest time throwing away a scrap. Love that MB circle die. You're very good to get those skinny strips down so perfectly!

Your work with scraps is amazing. So many YouTube channels work with "scraps" but it's frustrating to find out the papers aren't from a scrap bin. Wow, four bins of scraps? Your die-cut butterflies and flowers are so pretty.

Hi Connie. Your card is so pretty! I love that circle die with the thin strips. Great job getting them straight. The trio of butterflies is delightful!! I struggle with throwing away scraps too. I have a box for larger scraps and a tray for smaller scraps because they were getting lost in the box. Once in a while I take some time and just cut a bunch of shapes out of the scraps and store the shapes in baggies. It's helpful when I'm short on time but need to make a card. I store them by category, like Easter, Christmas, Spring, Flowers, etc... Anyway, a lovely card, and it's always nice to use up some scraps.

This is so pretty. I love the colors. I have about 10 containers for my scraps! They do come in handy at times.

Such a clever way to let those scraps shine. The stitched circle gives everything a clean focal point, and the mix of butterflies and blossoms feels so balanced and intentional. The thin strips are lined up so neatly, and the soft colors pull the whole design together. A beautiful example of how leftover bits can become something polished and fresh.
