More Christmas

As I said on my last post our challenge this month in my stamp group was to use heat embossing on our cards.  I did some more white embossing this time on patterned papers. I went with a mini slimline card for the two I made.

  • PSX - K 1603 stamp, embossed with white embossing powder
  • My mind's eye - O Christmas tree paper
  • Recollection Mixed Media paper for the embossing
  • Memory Box - Stitched Rectangle die
  • Stamped bow from my stash
  • Simon Says stamps - Tiny words Christmas stamp
  • DCWV - Metallic cardstock
The only think I changed up on the next card was the greenery with the ornament and the sentiment

  • PSX - K 1603 stamp, embossed with white embossing powder
  • My mind's eye - O Christmas tree paper
  • Recollection Mixed Media paper for the embossing
  • Simon says stamps - Tiny words Christmas stamp
  • Ornament die and branch dies
  • Silver gem
My last card for this month we did during our Zoom meeting with my stamp group so that made up my five cards for this month.

We attached beads to some stretch cord, it was supposed to be 7mm but I had 5mm already so I just used that size.  We attached it between two pieces of foam tape at the top and bottom and then added the diecut and punched borders to hide it.  I think this is so cute but like a lot of us were saying that we don't know how many of these we would make, unless you are really good at stringing the beads :)

The background piece we had made in another challenge awhile ago in our group where you sand glossy paper both ways and then add ink over it.

When you shake it it looks like snow falling, when it stands up the beads just fall to the bottom,

  • Stampin up - Snow much fun stamp, colored w/markers
  • Martha Stewart - Snowflake border punch
  • Poppystamps - Stitched landscape die
  • 5mm Stretch cord
  • Me & My big ideas - Beads
Background made by sanding glossy cardstock both horizontally and vertically and then sponging ink over it, I used Faded Jeans Distress Oxide

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and hope you are enjoying your weekend. It is cloudy here but it is finally not raining so I won't complain :)

Double emboss

The Let's Squash it Blog has a challenge to double emboss on your card, I am sharing a background that a fellow cardmaker sent me that was dry embossed with a snowflake embossing folder onto a Silver metallic cardstock and she also used some alcohol inks on it.  I decided to take that piece and add some embossing ink all over the background and heat emboss using Rainbow sparkle embossing powder.  I die cut and punched some purple snowflakes to go with the background added some gems and it was done!

  • Embossed background from friend, I added Ranger rainbow sparkle embossing powder to the whole background
  • Martha Stewart - snowflake punches
  • Gemini - Frost Christmas dies for large snowflake
  • Simon Says stamps - tiny words Christmas
  • Gems
  • Spectrum sparkle pen on snowflakes
In my stamp group our Christmas challenge for this month was to do heat embossing on our cards, so since I also had time to make another card, I took an old background I had made and stamped a house with white embossing powder and cut it out with a die.

  • Embossing Arts co. - Victorian Holiday House stamp, embossed with white embossing powder
  • Background from my stash
  • PPD - Distressed Edge Rectangle die
That is it for today but I have more Christmas to come.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Happy Pumpkins

I only make one Halloween card a year and that is for my daughter, mostly because it is just another excuse to send her a card and keep in touch, let her know her momma is thinking of her :)

I picked this stamp up at the yard sales my stamp store use to have every once in awhile, so sad they are no longer in business.

Don't they just make you smile :)  I wanted something in the corner so I drew in a web. Faux gold stitching around base of card. I used a gold paint pen to go around the arch. These were quick to color too.

  • Whipper Snapper Designs - Stack o' Pumpkins stamp, colored w/markers
  • Sizzix - Tags Rounded die w/gold paint pen around edges
  • DCWV - Old World Stack paper
  • Fiskars - Essentials sayings stamp
  • Hand drawn spider webs
  • Gold Faux stitching

I would like to share this with the following challenges:

We had some Tornados go by in our area but thankfully we did ok, just high winds and rain for us and we didn't lose power like the 3 towns around us.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and I hope your week is off to a good start!

Pet Loss

I would rather say Furbaby loss, those of us who love our pets like our kids know how bad the hurt can be when they leave this world.  My sister in law lost her furbaby of 20 years, that is a long time to have them by your side all the time.  She lost him the day before we were heading to Michigan so the night before I made this card for her and gave it to her when we went to see her, she seemed very touched by it, so I am so glad that I made it.  He was a black cat.

I sponged on the sky using a stencil, stamped the grass and went over it with ink and then cut the cat, clouds and sun out.  Found this paper for the background and stamped my sentiment.

  • Impression Obsession - Cat set die
  • Taylored Expressions - Sun & clouds dies
  • Memory Box - Stitched Rectangle Layers dies
  • D.R.S. Design - Easy Background stamp
  • My Favorite things - Cloud stencil
  • Carta Bella - Metropolitan Girl paper
  • Hero Arts - Everyday sayings sentiment stamp

It is a cold, rainy Saturday here, it sure feels like fall.  They are talking about possible severe storms so hoping that doesn't happen.  Hope you are enjoying your weekend and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hi,

Fun Find

We were at the dollar store a few weeks ago and I was looking for some Autumn stickers, I had seen on line some people talking about some cute stickers they had so I went to look to see if I could find something that would work on some Autumn cards.  Well I did not find that but I did find a sheet of Rub ons that were very pretty and this is a piece I cut from the sheet, everything was so close together so it was very hard to cut out just the flower but I just thought this was beautiful.

All I did was add it to some patterned paper and added a strip at the bottom and a little butterfly that I could pop up, so simple but I just loved it and the quality of the rub on was very good.

  • Crafters Square - Rub on Transfer ($store)
  • Basic Grey - Periphery paper
  • Tim Holtz - Botanical Layers (Butterfly) #TH93554
  • Honbay Sentiment stamp

Since that card went so quickly I made another card using a stamp that Beth gave me. It is a layered stamp and it went together quickly also!

I made a mini slim line card for this one.

After stamping I did a little splattering, roughed up the edges and pierced the corners to give them a little extra something and mounted it on some pattern paper.

  • Stampin up - Lotus Blossom stamp
  • Watercolor splatters
  • Distressed edges
  • Pierced corners

Happy Hugs

I have to say when making cards I tend to go through my goodies to see what I have to play with and digital stamps are usually forgotten, so sad. I decided to print some off after Leslie mentioned she had a bunch already printed and ready to color, but then I put them in a place that I don't think to go to, so now I have to figure out where to put them where they won't get wrecked but are somewhere I will remember to look :)

Today I am using one of those digital stamps, this time of year I love to make sunflower cards, well I don't mind all year but especially in the Fall.  I colored this one with my Nuvo markers.

  • Power Poppy - Sunshine of my Life digital stamp, colored w/markers
  • Lawn Fawn - Outside in Stitched Scallop Rectangle
  • October Afternoon - Seaside paper
  • Spectrum Clear Sparkle pen
The friend this went to loves sparkle so I added some sparkle pen to the petals.

I am sharing todays card with the Double D Challenge Blog the challenge this time is Sunflowers!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and saying Hi,

Heal well

A friend from church recently had shoulder surgery and has been dealing with a lot of pain.  I was making some flowers up using papers from my scrap bin and decided to use some of them on her card.  The envelope, bottom paper and the flower border were all given to me by Esther.  I just had to add a little more paper at the top so the flower die cut would show up better and stamp a sentiment on the little tag and add some of my flowers.

  • Tim Holtz - Funky Florals #3 and Funky Foliage dies
  • Art Gone Wild - Words to the Rescue - Get well sentiments stamp
  • Paper, Envelope and flower border gifted to me

Enjoy your birthday

Obviously I was on an enjoy kick, the last two cards had that sentiment in them :)

I used a paper pack that had these tags and  such in the paper you just have to cut them out.

The Enjoy sentiment was stamped and die cut out and popped up on the tag, added a few brads and then stamped Your birthday on the tag I added to the bottom.

  • DCWV - Primrose Paper & tags
  • Spellbinders - A2 matting basics A die
  • Jillibean soup - JB1287 stamp and die set w/Spectrum Sparkle on the Enjoy
  • Brads
You can see the clear sparkle pen I added to the Enjoy in this side view picture.

We are going to have a nice Autumn week, with a little chance of more rain on Wednesday, I hope to get out and get some walking in, best kind of weather to walk :)

Have a wonderful week ahead and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Beautiful Day

Hello my friends I have been gone for the past 6 days, took a quick trip up to visit with family and then we had a couple of days to see some fall leaf colors, they were late in changing this year so we didn't see a lot but we did get a few areas that were so pretty. Hope that in a few weeks we will see some pretty change around here.

I will be catching up on all your blogs in the next few days hopefully :)

I saw this pretty stamp and die combo at the book store a little while ago and finally broke it out and colored it, adding a little bit of white gel pen to accent the flowers.

I used a few layers of pattern paper on this one.  After cutting it out I used foam dots to pop it up.

  • Simply cards & Papercraft Magazine issue 215 - Cherry Blossom stamp and die, colored w/markers w/white gel pen accents
  • Spellbinders - Labels 8 and Decorative Labels 8 dies
  • Memory Box - Stitched Rectangle Layer die
  • DCWV - Garden Party paper
  • Tim Holtz - Metallic sticker book sentiment

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and I hope you have a Beautiful day,

Felt Frames

I have these felt frames and since I don't normally make square cards, I cut this one down and have it going off the side, I found some die cuts that looked close to the same style and used them to cut out and frame my sentiment.

The background that I stamped my sentiment on was a piece that I had use on my gel plate and kind of liked the look of it and saved it.  The flowers were given to me by my sister.

  • Oriental Trading co. - Spring felt frames and corners
  • Spellbinders - Labels one dies
  • Hot off the press - Life Happens Greetings stamp
  • Paper Flowers from sister

Slide and Lock

I once again forgot to post our zoom card from last month.  It is called Slide and Lock if you want to google to find out how to make one.

We did a technique for our outside panels, we took black card stock and stamped in white ink and then cleaned our stamp and stamped once again in two other color inks, I used Oxides.  I thought it gave a neat stone look to it.

  • Hot off the press - Mystic Garden stamp colored w/markers
  • Hero Arts - All Occasion Messages sentiment stamp
  • Queen & co. - Yellow Sunshine pearls
  • Distress Oxides inks - Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade stamped over white ink using background stamp

I didn't write inside the card yet when I took the pictures.

It was a fun card to make.

Stencils

In our stamp group when we have week of challenges a lot of times we will draw a name from those that participated in our challenge to give a little gift of goodies. After our last challenges Beth drew my name and she sent me these cute stencils, it was a 3 pack, the house the fairy and mushrooms.

So when I saw the challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters Blog I knew just the stencils to break out and give a try working with them. Hopefully my great niece will enjoy it, what little girl doesn't like a fairy :)

I first did the house and then tried to figure out how to fit the mushrooms and the fairy, I had to do the fairy on a separate piece and cut her out and so I popped her in front of the door, lounging on the grass.  I had to use markers through the stencil for the fairy because after 3 I threw away trying to sponge I gave up. I put a little sparkle on her wings. Added a few white gel pen to the mushrooms and also stenciled my sky.  I had this vellum sticker that I thought would go great with the little scene I had made.

  • Folkart - Fairies & Mushrooms stencil, distress inks, markers and white gel pen
  • D.R.S. designs - Easy grass background stamp, with sponging of ink over it
  • My Favorite Things - Cloud Stencil
  • K&co. - Birthday and celebrate Vellum sticker sentiment

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
