Hi all, Donna and I were talking about a technique she was going to try for an upcoming post and I said oh I have that one on my to try list, we decided we should both try it and then share our cards on the same day, so here we go.
I went with an old paper pack that was double sided paper, chose these cute bees paper, on the other side was the honeycomb pattern. I used the instructions found HERE for the technique.
I would suggest your first go around to use papers that you don't care about, I made a big mistake laying my first one down and that messed the whole thing up, luckily I had enough of this paper to still make a good panel.
I had a honey comb embossing folder to add with it and added ink to the raised portion of the embossing folder with a brayer so that when I embossed it I would have a yellow background.
I die cut some bees to fly around the card, and I used vellum for their wings. A Hexagon shape to stamp my sentiment onto. I kept the cardstock in the die to add some yellow to the center of the sentiment piece and then took black ink pad to go around to mimic the black piece that I matted my ribbon technique on. Finished it off with some yellow pearls.
