Faux Step

Our stamp group got together over Teams again to make a Faux step card. I didn't have enough time to get a stamp around ahead of time so I went with some ephemera I had to embellish it, we did do some heat embossing with a few different colors of embossing powders before putting the card together that we used on the panel behind the image and for the front bottom piece.

  • Stampin up - Vine stamp 2000, embossed w/ gold, silver and Opaque sparkle embossing powders
  • Provocraft - Textile Embossing folder
  • American Crafts - Ephemera pack (flower and butterfly)
  • Memory Box - Greeting tabs

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

So pretty with the embossing around the flower and the butterfly that looks so real. I like the green border, too. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Rain and wind here - typical March! Hugs x K

You could have fooled me. Until I saw the side view it looked like a real step card! You've got that beautiful ephemera, so might as well use it. I love the gold embossed stamping in the background, and the dry embossing in the foreground. A nice touch for a beautiful card!

Your card is absolutely gorgeous. Such a beautiful butterfly to go with the wonderful flower! I've never done a step card. I don't think those who get my cards know what to do with them!

The mix of heat‑embossed textures and dry embossing gives this design such depth, and the ephemera pieces look perfectly placed. The butterfly and flower feel like they were made for this fold, and the stepped structure shows them off beautifully. The metallic embossing on the background panel adds a really elegant glow that ties everything together.

This is so pretty Connie! I love all the rich texture, between the heat embossing and the dry embossing. You made a lovely choice of stickers.
