Happy Pumpkins

I only make one Halloween card a year and that is for my daughter, mostly because it is just another excuse to send her a card and keep in touch, let her know her momma is thinking of her :)

I picked this stamp up at the yard sales my stamp store use to have every once in awhile, so sad they are no longer in business.

Don't they just make you smile :)  I wanted something in the corner so I drew in a web. Faux gold stitching around base of card. I used a gold paint pen to go around the arch. These were quick to color too.

  • Whipper Snapper Designs - Stack o' Pumpkins stamp, colored w/markers
  • Sizzix - Tags Rounded die w/gold paint pen around edges
  • DCWV - Old World Stack paper
  • Fiskars - Essentials sayings stamp
  • Hand drawn spider webs
  • Gold Faux stitching

I would like to share this with the following challenges:

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge - anything Halloween
Retro Rubber Challenge - Fallin for Autumn - 2011 stamp

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

Hi Connie! I thought your card was funny. Always show your taste and innovation.

In Portugal, few people have the habit of celebrating Halloween. We have, as it is already being lost, the celebration of All Saints' Day. And sometimes with globalization replacing your Halloween

The Origin of Bread by God Christian
Over the years, the cult of the dead was increasingly promoted by the Catholic Church, as well as the tradition of reserving a place at the table, and also of leaving food for them.
The custom of leaving the first loaf of a batch of bread at this time at the door of the house also began, covered by a cloth. It would be to honor the dead, but the intention was also that whoever of the poorest passed by would take the physical part for themselves.

On the morning of November 1st, the children in their normal clothes go from home saying "Bread for God"

OMGosh, Connie, the pumpkin stack is so cute and I love it! Whipper Snapper stamps have so much character. Your coloring is awesome and love the arch shape. You did a great job drawing the spider web, too! I was so sad when our local paper crafts store closed. It's been years, but I still miss it. Hey, I'm glad you shared your card with us at Two Old Bats!
