Happy Halloween

 I don't do Halloween anymore but every year I end up making a card to send to our daughter, another excuse to let her know we are thinking of her.  When I saw this image from Graphics Fairy it reminded me so much of our cat Buttons that I just had to put it on her card. Punched out some pumpkins to go with him for a border on the card.

40th Anniversary

 Hubby and I have been blessed with 40 years together, When I saw this ephemera piece that I feel was for Thanksgiving I thought it was perfect for our anniversary card. I am so thankful to God for bringing us together and blessing us with all these years, I pray he gives us many more together!

Our Home to yours

 I have been gone once again, this time hubby and I went away to celebrate our Anniversary, I was able to check out the blogs a few times while gone so I am not to far behind this time :)

Just before we left I had finished my Christmas cards for the month of October. In my cardmaking group the challenge was to use buildings on your cards, and my stamp group was to use red, green, yellow or gold or have a Sentiment as your focal of the card, so this is what I came up with.

This first one I had seen This image from Lost in Paper blog, sorry the link I have doesn't go to her blog and I can't find it on there either, but I thought that is a cute idea and I have that stamp set, I had it all colored up and realized, I don't have the die to cut the globe, now what, so I ended up cutting another piece, scored the back so that it would open up which you can see in the second picture, luckily it was a pretty easy shape to cut.

This last one I forgot to write down but the stamps are from another cardmaking magazine, and I heat embossed with white embossing powder and cut it out with the Spellbinders A2 Deckled rectangle dies.

Birdies

 I know this looks more like a spring card but to those that I send always fall themed cards every once in awhile I try to change it up and send them something unexpected.  I had found the paper first, cut it out and applied it to my card and let it dry while I cut the birds and colored them.  Once I got it all done I thought oh no the birds just blend in with the background, I thought to just add a die cut behind them but thought it took up too much of the paper, so I ended up adding a touch of ink to darken the area so the birds stood out more and I think it worked.

Road is long

 An older gentlemen at our church has taken a hard fall and is having troubles bouncing back and being able to walk again. I wanted to let him know he has been missed. I cut some extra leaves and popped them up for a little dimension.

Film strip

 I bought this film strip die and some others that came in the package thinking they would be good for my journal and then I thought wouldn't it be neat to use some of my stamps inside of it for cards, I took 3 different stamp sets and colored them and then put them through the die just where I wanted the portion of the image to show through the die and cut them out so they would fit perfectly inside the film strip. I totally love how this turned out, not all my cards turn out like I imagine they would be this one I was very happy with.

Pastor Appreciation

 This past Sunday our church had a special appreciation Sunday for our Pastor, I have a set of these coloring cards that I used for this occasion. Lucky I have a set of very fine markers that I can use to color these tiny areas, I am sure I still went out of the lines a little bit.

We are quite blessed with our Pastor and her husband who is also our Media Pastor.

Birds in Flowers

 I was surprised to see this bird stamp set at the Dollar store, there are many birds in the set and they stamp really well. I stamped the flowers and leaves in the set out also and then fussy cut them and popped them up on foam tape to look like the bird is in a flowering tree.

Birthday wishes

 When I was working on my junk journal the other day I was going through some stickers and vellum images I had bought off Amazon just for my junk journals and when I came upon this vellum image I thought that would be pretty for the next birthday card I need to make so I left it out just for it.  Sorry I don't know the name of the maker of them, I didn't keep it because I thought it was only going to be for my private use.

Sympathy

 One of the girls in my cardmaking group lost her Dad, I know I should have cards on hand for these times but I just don't. I had no idea what I wanted to do so when that happens I first try to look through what I have and see if anything comes to mind, and I decided to look through the items from past years Advent calendars through Crafters companion and I found the stamp and die set from one years and this embossing folder from another and thought I could combine them for this card.  I went with a dictionary page that I inked for the background.

New Baby

 WE have a new baby in the family, my great great niece has been born, we have had a lot of boys so it is nice to have a girl in the mix :) she was born 4 weeks early and had a rough start of things but after a month she is home from the hospital and doing much better.
