Pumpkin Truck

When I saw the challenge over at Double D Challenge which is wheels, I knew just what I wanted to do, make my first fall card, and one of the first things I think of is pumpkins, so that is what I put in the back of this truck :)  I stenciled the background with clouds and then sponged in the road and grass.

The pumpkins are from a punch hubby had, I cut them from orange paper and did a little sponging of orange around them and colored the stems.  Cut the leaves from pattern paper and added them to the tree die cut, of course you have to have some falling to the ground.

  • Taylored Expressions - On the road - Truck die
  • EK - Pumpkin punch
  • Distress inks - Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn and Black soot for background
  • My Favorite things - Cloud Stencil
  • Impression Obsession - Bare tree and Oak Leaves & Rake dies
  • 49 and Market - Vintage Artistry in the leaves rub on sentiment

Get Wells

I had a couple of get well cards to make, this first one is for my sister in law who was in the hospital for a week, and has a few weeks of recovery ahead of her. I used some new goodies I had bought. I brought out one of my old flower dies, did a little inking to color it. Added some nuvo drops to the background.

  • 49 and Market - Artoptions Avesta 6x8 papers and Avesta Ephemera Bits
  • Spellbinders - Rose Creations dies
  • ODBD - All Occasions Sentiments stamp
  • Nuvo Drops - Pale Gold
  • Brad

My second card went to a lady in our church that has had to go to the hospital a couple of times, hopefully she is on the road to recovery. She loves riding horses and was so hoping to be well enough to do it again. She also loves quilting so I mixed the two on this card :)

  • John Sloane's country season calendar 2022 - Horse image
  • Sassafras - Mix and Mend paper
  • PPD - A2 stitched Banner set die
  • Pebbles Inc. - Rub on sentiment

Shape card

Over at Let's Squash it blog they have a challenge to use anything but a square for your card shape, since I had just recently posted a circle card and a shaped rectangle card I went with my hexagon die, which made it a smaller card then I am use to using, it is approximately 4 x 3 3/4.  I have been thinking I need to get my bee die out and use it before the summer is over so I went with using my honeycomb embossing folder.  Of course the bees need something to be buzzing around so I added some flowers I cut from pattern paper and a leafy vine die.  Used a couple gems for the centers.

  • Spellbinders - Hexagons and Foliage Flourish dies
  • Paper Studio - Honeycomb embossing folder
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Bees die
  • Impression Obsession - Floral Set dies
  • Me & My big ideas - gems

The Last

Ok I thought I was done with the snowmen cards but when I was putting all my supplies back I saw a couple more snowmen stickers and thought I could make a couple more quick cards, so I did, can't have too many right :)

The stickers in these sets are so cute, I just loved the racoon peeking out from behind the snowman I just had to use this one.  I found this paper that almost looked like swirls of snow for the background. I added a couple strips of scraps I had to the top and bottom and that peace sentiment is actually a part of an ornament stamp set my sister in law gave me, I just punched out the peace part for a sentiment.

  • Recollections - Christmas stickers
  • Fancy pants designs - Saint Nick papers
  • Peace stamp unknown
The next one I chose this paper to go with the globe sticker because it reminded me of the globes with all the sparkle and stuff floating around inside. The sentiment is also from stamps my sister in law gave me.

  • Recollections - Christmas sticker
  • Martha Stewart - zig zag border punch
  • Fancy pants designs - Saint Nick paper
  • Sentiment stamp unknown
I would like to share today's cards with Peace on Earth Blog, the bottom right corner is the one I went with.

I promise now that is it, everything is now put away waiting for next months prompts :)

Hope you are enjoying your week so far, I am enjoying the cool morning starts still but see in the forecast that won't last for long, but always thankful for the breaks in the heat :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hi,

More Snowmen

First up is the one my hubby liked the best of them all and the image came from a children's coloring book I think was at the Target $ spot last year.  I colored with markers but forgot how much they bleed on this cheap paper so have to remember to use pencils next time.

  • Image, coloring book from Target $ spot, colored w/markers
  • Dazzles - 31 White Jewel Border stickers
  • PPD - 6mm Sparkle confetti
  • Hobby Lobby - Country tags Chipboard 3D

This is a mini slimline card. colored the die cuts and used white and silver pen for the snow falling.

  • Taylored Expression - Little bits snowman and Central Park dies, colored w/markers
This last one I put the sticker directly onto pattern paper and then colored in some portions and added a bit of glitter for the snow.

  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - 2583 stickers, colored w/markers
  • Art Glitter - Crystal, for snow
  • Fancy Pants designs - Saint Nick paper
  • Hobby Lobby - country tags, chipboard 3d

That makes my 5 Christmas cards for this month :)

Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend, we have a chance for rain tomorrow but that's ok, the garden would enjoy that :)

Birthday Rose

I have a few of these flowers I made ahead, and wanted to use one of them for this next birthday card I needed.  When looking for the right papers to go with them I found just a small piece of this flower paper left in the pack and thought it matched perfectly with my die cut flower, so I went through and found more scraps to go with it to make up the background.

  • Gemini - Rose double sided dies
  • BasicGrey - Porcelain Paper
  • Gina Marie - Birthday words
  • Dew drops

I love having these dies all ready to go when I want to make a project. I have been trying to work on having these things made up ahead of time.

We are having a cool morning so I am on my way out to do some yard work before it heats up.

Gallery cards

End of last year I was asked by Splitcoast Stampers if I would be on the Dirty Dozen Group.  For those of you that don't know this is a group that you can pay to join, it keeps the site up and running and only those people can see your cards and other Dirty Dozen members.  You can go on Splitcoast Stampers anytime you just can't view what is in that gallery unless you join as a Fan club member.

Tall or short

I have had this snowman set for quite a few years, bought it at a yard sale and finally playing with it, one of my groups challenge is snowmen, the other challenge in another group is using silver or gold.  I went with embossing these snowmen in silver embossing powder and then doing a bit of embellishing with silver pens.

It was a tad hard to get the pencils into these very tiny areas after they were embossed, I should have stamped first in soft color, colored them and then embossed after.  The snowline was drawn with silver pen as were all the snowflakes in the background and the sentiment was stamped with silver ink.

  • Stampin up - Snow much fun stamp set, embossed in silver, colored w/pencils
  • Silver pen for snow drift and snowflakes
  • Silver ink for sentiment

  • Stampin up - Snow much fun stamp set, embossed in silver, colored w/pencils
  • Spellbinders - Card Creator Holiday - Holly and Poinsettia die, silver pen in the embossed leaves
  • Momenta - Cardstock
  • Silver pen dots for snow

    Gerbera

I am using more of the Gemini dies I bought off of HSN. I cut them out twice and layered and then colored with markers.

I found this Sketch that I thought would work great with this die and give a little interest to the background.

    • Gemini - Create a card, Gerbera die, cut twice and layered, colored w/markers
    • K&co. - K-ology Hanna cardstock for base
    • Teresa Collins - Tell your story paper for strip
    • Martha Stewart - border punch
    • Offray - spool of ribbon
    • Stampendous - Birthday assortment sentiment stamp

We took advantage of having cooler weather yesterday to take everything out of the garage on one side, which consisted of 4 big shelves full of stuff, plus all the Christmas and winter tubs (10) and put them out in our driveway and so glad we did, we had put down plastic thinking that would be good to put under the shelves and into the walk space where we had boxes sitting and it would keep from the damp well when you have a flood all that does is keep in the wet, so we had to totally take it all out and then put fans on to dry, we saw a little black on the wall so we sprayed the walls all down with bleach and let that dry and then put it all back.  Let's just say we decided to let a few more things go along the way, I still have things to look through but we were getting pretty tired by the end. The other side of the garage is my hubby's work bench and all those tools, we have no idea what it looks behind all that but we will save that for when it is a bit cooler out, no plastic was used on that side.

Hope you all enjoy a great weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and let me know you have,

    Birthday wishes

This card started out with the papers, I had previously gone through this pack for another card and really thought this paper was pretty with it's soft coral and grey colors, so when it was time to do a card for my friend I decided to use it.  I didn't want to big of an image because I wanted the paper to show, so I went with this small stamped flower, but when I finished coloring it trying to use the same colors in the paper, it blended in with the paper too much so I went looking for something to back it with and found this mulberry paper.

One tip I have is that rub ons don't work very well on Mulberry paper, I finally managed to get it to work but it took way too much time of rubbing to finally get it to adhere.

    • Gemini - Flower stamp, colored w/markers
    • Spellbinders - Labels 29 die
    • Paper Studio - Distressed Florals paper and Mulberry Neutrals
    • Tim Holtz - Remnant rub ons tiny text

It is so nice here today, I have the doors open and a nice breeze is coming through, finally a break from that terrible heat.  I hope it is nice where you are.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

    New Kitty

Well my hubby's niece who lost her kitty not to long ago and I made that sympathy card for has already adopted a new kitty, she said that coming home to an empty house was more than she could take so she adopted a little orange kitty she named Pumpkin.

It is amazing what these little furbabies can give us such great love and companionship!

I had this background papers that were done in yellows and oranges so I used that to cut out the kitty, the inner pieces that fell out I just colored with a marker and glued back into the die cut piece.

    • Pizzaz Aplenty - Cat due, cut from background piece
    • Basic Grey - Picadilly paper
    • Spellbinders - Square die
    • Cardmaking and Papercrafts - Sweet Sentiments
    • Liquid Pearls - Copper

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

    Watercolor flowers

I hadn't done any watercoloring for awhile so I thought this pretty flower would be nice to watercolor, I have only colored with markers in the past, at least that I can remember :)

I am sharing today's card with Retro Rubber challenge the challenge is anything goes this time. If I am reading the tiny date correctly it is a 2002 stamp, wow 20 years old.

    • Rubber stampede - Hydrangea stamp 2002, watercolor w/ Daniel Smith Green Apatite Genuine and Distress ink Dusty concord and Distress Oxide Scattered Straw
    • Liquid Pearls - Lemon Yellow (center flowers and background)
    • Stampendous - Birthday Assortment stamp sentiment

I like these challenges to get me to break out my old stamps once again :)

Hope you all enjoy a nice weekend, we are still into the thick humidity so we won't be outdoors much.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

    Many Greetings

I still had a few more cards left that I didn't share that I had made for my daughter to look through and chose what she wanted. This is the last of them, a few have already come in handy for me :)

These are papers, images and tags from Make Special cards magazine September 2018 Issue 13.

On the one above I added these flower stickers, sequins and the die cut under the tag.

on this one I added the die cut to put the topper image on

Same with this one just rounded a couple of the rectangle with a corner rounder to put the tag onto, popped up the little bear.

this one I also added the scalloped oval for an extra layer

This  last one I added the doily under the wreath.  I probably still have enough papers and images to make up many more of these cards but I think I am worn out by using this set for now.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by again today and letting me know you have.

    All your wishing for

There are those papers that I just love and I have not used, I just enjoy looking at them, well ever since I had to move everything in fear that flood waters were going to come up into our home I have decided that they need to be used and not just admired :)  These very thick chipboard diecuts I bought to go with the papers, they make pretty scenes I think.

    • Stamperia - House of Roses 12x12 papers and Die cut Chipboard pieces
    • Tim Holtz - Small talk
This is an A6 card and with all the chipboard pieces I added it is a little heavier but that won't be a problem since I will be hand delivering the card to my friend :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
