In the garden

What do I see in my garden?  Birds and flowers :)  Sisterhood of Crafters has in the garden challenge and so I went to my Bird Watcher paper pack once again to make a garden card.

Right now I am watching my hummingbird feeder as I write this up and the Ants are also having a feast. Have any of you had that problem and what did you do about it?  I have my feeder hanging from a steel Shephards hook.  I usually place some ant killer at the base of the hook, but with our rain it must get washed away and they come right back before the ground even dries.

  • Graphic 45 - Bird Watcher 8x8 paper, I cut the banner from a die and fussy cut the flower out of the paper and popped it up, cut the border strip out too.  Ephemera pack for the tag and bird
  • Spellbinders - Baby buntings die
  • My Mind's eye - Lost and found paper (background)
  • Brad

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

this is a gorgeous card. ants and bees occupy my hummingbird feeder more than the hummingbirds!! i usually try to change the food and wash the feeder if it gets really bad. i find the hummingbirds don't eat if there are a lot of ants on it!!

Oooh, this is really pretty, Connie! Love how you've used the paper. Graphic 45 has some gorgeous paper. Oddly enough, I have never been able to attract hummingbirds to a feeder. I've tried different formulas, more sugar, etc, different locations, but they seem rather indifferent to it. I know, weird.

Really thought you had used a page from a book for your card. I love the embellishments and the colours. Would Love to see a humming bird in real life. Hugs Mrs A.

This is stunning Connie! I love the book print paper in the background. That always makes a nice foundation for pretty vintage accessories. The bird cut from the mottled paper compliments the flower and banner so nicely! I have stopped using a hummingbird feeder a couple of years ago for the same reason you're experiencing. I seldom saw hummingbirds but always had ants. Now I just try to watch them when they come to the flowers in our gardens.

This is lovely, such beautiful colours.

It's always enjoyable to watch the birds visiting the garden ... we get squirrels who like to visit too.

All the best Jan
