The next challenge was to scribble crayon onto white cardstock in either circles or straight lines, leaving plenty of white space, then go over the whole background with ink, take a paper towel and rub the whole background and the ink will lift off of the crayon since the crayon acts as a resist.
I tried circles at first didn't like that at all, then I decided to do straight lines but do them like a basket weave look, I used yellow, orange and a reddish brown crayons, then went over that with dark brown ink.
The paper had a glossy feel to it after it was done, since the background was so dark I went with this stamped image that had a dark background to it, but colored it with pencils to lighten the card up a bit. I will have to say I wasn't really thrilled with my results on this one, showed it to my hubby and he thought it was so cool, I guess you never know, LOL!
The top pick is how the coloring is in real life, this side view had a bit of glare on it, but thought you could see the stamp better.
Inky Antics - Pumpkin Scenes stamp, colored w/ pencils
Scribble background made with orange, yellow and red brown crayons, then inked over with chocolate ink
Mama Elephant - Blessed sentiment stamp set
Pilot gold marker around sentiment
Spectrum noir sparkle marker- sunshine yellow on lantern
When was the last time you played with crayons? Luckily I still had ones left over from when my daughter was in grade school :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

Wow, WOW, Connie! Most awesome basketweave background ever! Oh, my gosh, this is amazing! I can't imagine ever getting the basketweave so perfect. The different shades and the brush stroke look -- love it so much!
Gosh, the last time I played with crayons was 8 years ago when I ironed the wax. This is one neat-looking technique. I do like how it looks like a basket weave. Stunning work.
You are so good at taking a challenge and following through with a perfect project.
You rock!!!
